Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I knew if I was going to try boba for the very first time, I wanted it to be authentic. Since boba originated in Taiwan, I was determined to find a Taiwanese tea shop while we were walking around Chinatown before heading to the Chinese Lantern Festival. A lot of places had already closed for the evening, but thankfully we found CHICHA San Chen. I am SO glad we did. I ordered the original brown sugar boba, and it completely lived up to everything I was hoping for. The tea tasted incredibly fresh, and the tapioca pearls were huge, perfectly chewy, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, I probably wouldβve been just as happy drinking the tea by itself because it was that good. I loved that the drink felt thoughtfully made instead of just thrown together. You could really taste the quality. The little rope carrier for the drinks was such a cute touch and made it so easy to walk around Chinatown while we explored. Iβve already saved this place in my Google Maps because I absolutely plan on coming back.π§

Order was simple with the kiosk. So many tea options that are brewed fresh using a device Iβve never seen before akin to an espresso machine. Tea was delightful with the perfect amount of sweetener. We tried the pineapple jelly, really delicious. They also have boba as a topping. We tried the oolong, but next time might try a milk tea, which a lot of people were ordering. Few indoor seats to enjoy your tea. Counter top seating or table seating. Quite busy, popular, expect a wait up to 10 minutes on the weekends.

Very chill Bubble Tea cafe with a nice ambiance and lofi style playlist. I had the Dong Ding Oolong Tea Latte which was the perfect blend of tea and sweetness. Not too much seating but came during off hours and had no problem. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic, high quality tea. I enjoy good milk tea, and this was impressive! The little store had such a nice charm to it, and both the milk tea and fruit teas are amazing. I tried to grape series fruit tea, less ice, less sweet- and it was terrific. A bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it if you enjoy good tea. I think in NY, it was like $10 a cup.. but here it's $7-8 which is typical nowadays. I really enjoy Molly Jasmine, and San Chen's quality is there too. I think we had a friend who did a large order from them- and you'd expect the quality to drop from the time and the many orders, but that was not that case- so that's impressive. Anyways, try their fruit teas, and even their milk tea and bobas are solid. Service was great, the servers were friendly and they seem quite knowledgeable on teas as well. Very impressed- enjoy!

Chicha San Chenβs boba milk tea is very fragrant with a strong, authentic tea aroma ππ§. The quality is great and the drink is delicious, though itβs still a bit sweet for my personal taste even when I asked for less sugar π βI usually prefer my milk tea on the lighter side. Overall, itβs still an excellent and enjoyable drink, especially for true tea lovers β¨π
